I went to Tiffindell last July to participate in the SA national championships...
It was quite a joke when I got there. yer, theres only 1 lift - a bum lift which takes ages to get to the top - only a few 100 metres up.. but the races were fun which i did ok in and it was a great place to party.
I\'m South African and have been living in france for the last 7 years. Im a ski racer who races in a ski club called SC Peyragudes. I race as a south african under an SA fis card and will be going back to tiffindell this July to race the good old SA champs.
Tiffindell is a cool place to go to if u want a bit of fun. If you are in the area during the SA championships in july, come and see what its like!

Skiing in South Africa. Ha-ha. There are 2 ski resorts, Oxbow and Tiffendell. Both feature.... 1 ski lift and .... wait for it ..... 1 slope of approximately 1000m each. Both resorts are at an altitude of more or less 3000m (10000f). Off-piste is not an option.

Snowfall is very low which means they make snow every night if they can. The season starts in May and ends last week in August or 1st week in September.

Reason for skiing in South Africa is mostly to refine your technique before you go to Europe and of course to party.

All-in-all worth visiting if you\'re in the area, but do not expect 3 Valleys or Portes du Soleil.
